Have fun! We do the hard work — you do the enjoyable part. HCR's DIY service takes the hassle out of a Heritage body-shell rebuild.
Build your own Heritage MGB the easy way and let us do the difficult bits. We will help you rebuild your own MG by transplanting it into one of our fully painted rolling Heritage body shells.
We believe this option takes the hassle out of a full rebuild. Just let us know when you have your MG stripped down and we'll arrange collection.
We collect your old car, dispose of the old body shell, and return your new rolling Heritage shell absolutely free — anywhere on mainland UK. No additional collection or disposal charges.
The process is straightforward and designed to make the build as enjoyable and stress-free as possible.
You remove all the easy components from your existing MG — down to a bare shell left sitting on its axles. You keep all your parts to transfer to the new shell.
HCR collects your old rolling shell (free, mainland UK). While you prepare your parts, we get to work on the rebuild — no storage worries for you.
We completely rebuild your axles using reconditioned shock absorbers, king pins, springs, all bushes, and front wheel bearings. All parts are powder-coated and rebuilt to our usual standards.
The new Heritage shell is seam-sealed, stone-chipped underneath, and fully painted in your colour of choice. Your rebuilt axles are then re-fitted to the new shell.
Your fully painted, rolling Heritage shell — with rebuilt axles fitted — is returned to you free of charge. The old shell is disposed of.
Now for the enjoyable bit — fitting all your own components to a pristine new shell. We provide free advice during your build and a guide to what to fit in which order.
We also offer free advice during the build — including a guide to which components are easiest to fit and in which order. If you get stuck or have a question, just give Mark a call.
